It was a dark and stormy night...

Ryan and I were both trying our luck in the (cough) internet dating world. We were both subscribers to Match.com and Ryan was apparently intrigued by my tag line which read, "If you like Muppets you'll like me." He emailed me on September 9, 2004. I was thrilled at the fact that he actually read my profile, most guys just shot me messages asking for a full body photo, so my coworker, Nichole, and I spent an afternoon deciding if we thought this guy was cute enough to chat with. From his photos (posed to show off his muscular arms), we decided he was probably conceited but hot enough for one conversation.

After coming home from the Olivia Newton John concert with my mom and sister, Ryan and I first chatted at about 11:00 pm on September 10. Not only did I quickly realized he wasn't conceited, I was pleasantly surprised to find him charming, funny, and intelligent. We chatted all night and made plans to meet the next day.

After our first date on September 11, 2004, Ryan and I cancelled our subscriptions to Match.com. We got engaged one year later, to the day.

I'm looking for someone to sit and make sarcastic comments at movies with; especially ones we've seen hundreds of times, like "Spinal Tap," and "Overboard" and then gets the references from all the obscure movie quotes I tend to use in casual conversation. I want to cook dinner for someone who doesn't mind that my "Chinese Food Surprise" sticks to the pan and my bearnaise chicken turns out raw in the middle. I'm looking for someone that takes one look at the tree full of stuffed velcro monkeys in my living room and thinks it's the greatest piece of furniture in the world. I need someone that will read the cliche young adult novels I write and lie about how much they like them. My someone can't get mad about my crushes on Eminem and the guy that plays Jess on Gilmore Girls, but he does get a little jealous if a "real" person pays me attention. I need someone that will show me new things, get me off the couch when I'm crabby, and never stops amazing me. If all that sounds insane to you, trust me, I'm not your girl.

I'm a sarcastically funny person who can find humor in any situation. I've been surfing for 14 yrs, and it is still my favorite thing to do. I play guitar, listen to good rock music, and haven't acquired a taste for sushi yet (needing the right person to have it with). I work full-time as a Website developer. I take my work seriously, but I am always up for fun when I'm not there. I love football, baseball... actually any sport - either watching or playing. I played baseball through HS, but didn't have enough time to in college. I also study a non-traditional martial art called Krav Maga. Not much of a fan of talking about myself, so I think that's enough info on me for now, just ask if you want to know more...
